Project Brief

This project converted a dwelling into a supported living service for six users. The aim was to adapt the property to meet supported living requirements, ensuring full regulatory compliance and suitability for its new purpose.

What did we deliver?

The project involved a comprehensive transformation of an existing dwelling into a supported living service for six users. Initially, all fixed goods, floor coverings, and sanitary ware were removed to prepare the space for new installations.

A complete electrical overhaul was carried out, including wiring, outlets, and emergency lighting, to ensure a safe and functional system. New plumbing systems and central heating were installed, including a plant room to support the heating and hot water needs of the service users.

The internal layout was redesigned and reconfigured to enhance functionality and accessibility for the service users. This process involved continuous collaboration with building control to ensure all modifications met regulatory standards due to the ‘change of use.’

Significant alterations were made to the external areas, including landscaping and groundwork, to provide ramped access to the main entrance, ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements.

The building was fully plastered and decorated to create a fresh and welcoming environment. New flooring was installed throughout the property to enhance durability and comfort.

To address safety needs, fire doors, a comprehensive fire alarm system, and a nurse call system were installed. This ensured that the facility met all safety requirements and was tailored to the specific needs of the supported living service.
